The North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) has recently welcomed Roger Kilburn as its new chair to lead the future of the cluster.

Taking over from px Group’s Mark Kenrick who has been in the role since 2018, Roger brings 35 years’ experience in biotechnology, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors having previously worked for companies such as ICI and Johnson Matthey.

NEPIC has a long-standing history in supporting the growth of its members and is currently the largest process cluster in the UK, representing over 320 member companies who have interests across the North East.

As a business owner running his own consultancy specialising in business strategy, growth and leadership support, Roger comes into the role understanding the challenges organisations face within the sector in the modern day.

Discussing the handover, Mark said: “I could not think of anyone better to pass the reins to than Roger. NEPIC’s ethos has always been about supporting growth across the North East. Having helped many organisations grow throughout his career, Roger is the perfect fit for this role.”

NEPIC actively seeks new opportunities that its members can benefit from by facilitating collaboration and innovation. Under Roger’s new guidance the organisation is sure industry in the region will continue to thrive.

Confident that Roger will be successful in the role, Philip Aldridge, CEO at NEPIC said: “We are delighted to welcome a familiar face as our new chair. Roger has been a non-executive director on the board at NEPIC since October 2020, we have no doubt his dedication and expertise in the sector will lead us well in this new era for NEPIC.”

Speaking on his new role, Roger said: “It is a huge honour to take over this position from Mark, who has done a fantastic job for the last five years. I am very much looking forward to leading NEPIC and setting the direction for the future.”
