As Teesside’s largest independent commercial law firm, the team’s depth of expertise and dedication has seen them handle some of the most high-profile deals in the region and build a strong reputation on knowledge and an understanding of their clients’ businesses.
This, the firm’s 25th year, has been marked by significant achievements. It retained Tier 1 status in the prestigious Legal 500 rankings for its corporate and commercial, dispute resolution and commercial property departments. Additionally, a large number of team members received individual recognition, including eight people being noted as leading or next generation partners, and Sean Jackson, who was named a leading associate in the corporate and commercial team.
Jen Carulei, operations director at The Endeavour Partnership, who joined the team five years ago and was supported through her MBA by the firm, attributes much of this success to the firm’s culture, saying: “Our dedication to clients and the profession is embedded in our DNA, but it is our commitment to our people that really sets us apart. Formalising this ethos, the firm has developed a strategic plan, Seven by Twenty-Seven, to craft a clear vision and mission based on delivering exceptional client service and creating an inclusive, supportive workplace. Jen explained, “The plan emphasises seven pillars that guide our values, foster team cohesion, and ensure a positive impact on our environment and community. It ensures we support the current team and serves as a foundation for our future.
“Our objective was to build on our strengths and establish goals that would not only drive the firm’s success but also continue to invest in the team. Our ethos is a fundamental part of our identity and so our strategy is rooted in our experience, spirit and values. The firm now has a strong vision that ensures we attract and retain the best talent while maintaining the highest standards of client service.”
The firm’s Seven by Twenty-Seven initiative also resulted in several key appointments aimed at positioning the firm for sustained growth including reshaping the leadership team that now consists of managing partner Lee Bramley, operations director Jen Carulei, and partners Nik Tunley and Martin McKinnell.
In addition, James Butler takes the helm as head of the corporate and commercial team, allowing Nik to focus on broader strategic responsibilities within the firm. Alexandra Ketchley has also been appointed to the newly created position of legal director, which will see her take on a professional support role while continuing her client work within the commercial property team.
