Communicate has recently taken on their first female IT infrastructure engineer apprentice to join their team based in Discovery Park in Kent.
Established in 2011, the nationwide company provides IT, telecoms, and cyber security to organisations of all shapes and sizes; fast becoming one of the industry’s leading internet service and managed security providers.
Keeping over 500 businesses and 50,000 users connected and secure across the UK, the firm’s clients include the East Kent Chambers, Discovery Park and Kent Innovation Centre.
Since taking on Chloe Jones, aged 21, Communicate hopes to encourage more young females to join their offices in Kent, Tees Valley, Leeds and the wider UK.
Speaking on the appointment, CEO Tony Snaith said: “As women account for just 26 per cent of people working in our sector, we are encouraging more females starting out in the industry to apply for careers in IT through apprenticeships.
“It has been great to welcome Chloe to the team, we hope many more females will follow in Chloe’s footsteps.”
Chloe is the eighth apprentice to join Communicate, discussing her new role Chloe said: “Bringing more women into the sector is needed, there are so many job opportunities that lead to a great career. I would love more women and young people to get involved in tech, it is a skill that can be taken anywhere.
“The apprenticeship has provided me with a pathway into the industry and I am looking forward to a long career where I can turn my passion for computers into a valuable skillset. I am hugely grateful for the opportunity Communicate has given me.”
