Leading IT, telecoms and cyber security specialist Communicate has secured a major contract to supply its services to Allia Future Business Centre in Peterborough.

Winners of ‘Workspace of the Year’ award last year, Allia’s centres provide flexible workspace, event and meeting rooms and a networking community within environmentally focused buildings for local businesses and social enterprises.

The contract will see Communicate overhaul the Peterborough centre’s IT by updating its internal network and responsibly recycling the old hardware as part of the refurbishment.

Commenting on the contract, Director of Allia Future Business Centres David Broach said: “Allia is all about working with small businesses and charities to help them develop and achieve their impact aims.

“Our partnership with Communicate will allow these businesses a direct relationship with IT experts and will free up valuable time for the Allia team to help transform communities and create positive impact for people, place, and planet.”

Omadelle Charles-Bailey, Centre Manager at the Peterborough centre added: “Communicate has made sure any disruption during the handover was kept to an absolute minimum.”

“We now have a much more robust and reliable network than before, and it has co-invested to cover the costs of the migration and upgrade, so we haven’t had to divert our budget away from the companies and charities that we’re here to support.”

Following a stream of contract wins in previous years, Communicate is already a market leader in managing IT and connectivity services at Science Parks and Business Centres across the UK, including Hethel Innovation Centre in Norwich and Discovery Park in Kent.

Speaking on the success Communicate CEO, Tony Snaith said: “We have been connecting organisations since 2011 with an adaptable approach that focuses on the needs of our clients and their buildings.”

“We partner with sites all over the UK and Allia’s Peterborough centre is another fantastic step on our journey as one of the industry’s leading and fastest growing internet and managed security providers. We welcome this partnership and are confident it will open more doors for us in the region.”

Fil Schiannini, Communicate Account Manager for Allia added: “I have known Allia for several years and wholeheartedly support its ethos and approach.”

“I am looking forward to getting to know the occupants at the Peterborough centre and working alongside Allia to help it develop even better services to its tenants. Our companies share similar values and are aligned in our goals, so I am very excited for this long-term partnership.”
